The purpose of the Heil Scholarship is to provide grants to worthy students who are current or former residents of the YWCA Madison or have participated in YWCA Madison programs to pursue educational opportunities. The goal of the scholarship is to assist the recipients in achieving personal and professional success so that they can provide an improved and stable quality of life for themselves and their families.
The primary priority for eligibility shall be current and former residents of the YWCA Madison. The secondary priority for eligibility shall be current and former participants in other YWCA Madison programs. In the case that representatives of neither of these two groups apply and/or qualify for the scholarship, the YWCA Madison Heil Scholarship Committee may, at its discretion, offer the opportunity for application to participants in other partner organization’s programs.
Selection is based on letter(s) of recommendation, educational data, employment, community activities or other life experience, economic need, the financial template and personal statement. The applicant should demonstrate a commitment to achieving their personal and professional goals.
